The narrator tells the story of the song through the video. Our narrator in our song is the band because they are telling the story of a couples break up, keeping the story separate from themselves. The point of view is important because it is positioning the audience in taking a certain angle of vision. The message is constructed in storyboarding of whichever point of view we want the audience to associate with, which is why it should be carefully analysed. We have decided to apply narrative through the performance so that the story is separate from the band. Sometimes in music videos, the artist will narrate as well as being the story itself. An example for where this is applied is in Beyoncé’s song ‘Irreplaceable’.
